Refugee Development Center

Under creative direction at Redhead Design Studio, I developed campaign posters and an annual report for the Refugee Development Center (RDC) in Lansing, MI. The campaign was developed as an initiative to celebrate the RDC as it moved into its 15th year, however given the current climate of our country, it became much more than that.

The poster concept came about as an engaging way to speak on the humanity and personalities of the refugee, or newcomer, population served by the RDC. By incorporating multiple languages in vibrant colors over top of striking portraiture, I aimed to create a striking image that would encourage someone to approach and spend time with each piece. Each poster also contains the name and self-chosen title of each subject to further drive home the fact that there is more to each of these individuals than the refugee identity.

The annual report develops the concept of the posters further by repositioning the text and "revealing" each individual while you read the story of their own experience.
